This is a ride for everyone to enjoy and an opportunity to put in some early season miles. The route will be over mostly secondary roads and the terrain is generally flat. Tour the historic towns and villages of Lorain County a week after the Paris-Roubaix but without the cobbles. There will be one route with three cutoffs to provide routes of 25, 50 and 64 miles.
This this is a FREEBIE ride, so there will be NO arrows or food. There will be a map and all the routes are very easy to follow. All riders will be required to wear an approved helmet to participate in AFROST. There will be no SAG wagon, ride patches, or food stops. You'll pass through Oberlin, Wellington and LaGrange, so are many places to buy food along the routes.
Donations of $.50 will be accepted on the day of the ride to cover the cost of printing of the maps.
Registration will be from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM and leave at your leisure. Registration, start-finish and parking will be at Shupe School on Shupe Ave. in Amherst. From State Route 58, turn west onto Middle Ridge Road (Sliman Dodge and a DQ) At the "Y", bear right onto Elyria Ave and left on Minerva St., then left at the dead-end onto Shupe Ave. The school is on your right.
